Nobody Watch
In keeping with my vow to start a "Nobody" Watch, here I go! In his first posting of today (there are often several!), Nobody takes a crack at Anshe.
You have to roll your eyes 360 degrees when you find someone who clearly thinks they are "Somebody" who calls themselves "Nobody". I recall a similar gambit in Test City in The Sims Online when "Nobody" urged everyone who hated elections to "vote for Nobody" in the presidential race.
Today, Nobody is exercised at the idea that "Prokaroni" disagrees with him, and calls his anti-capitalist screeds, "socialist" -- and decides, as they always do with their paucity of good come-backs, that it must mean that a socialist is "anybody who disagrees with Prok". No, socialists are just socialists -- and the word retains enough of a bad reputation that even socialists these days like to pretend that they aren't such -- and like to call themselves "progressive" or "green" lol.
Nobody's theses for today involve a curious notion that advertisers in the Herald are skewing its copy to become "advertorials". That's silly, as anybody can buy advertising on the Herald, and in writing positively about Anshe, a figure that the little FIC clique loves to hate, the Herald isn't guilty of an advertorial, but independent journalism lol. As for actual ads, I believe they're very low in cost, having used the feature a number of times. It's nowhere near the cost for other publications, and the visibility is pretty well ensured in the spots they have at the top. The Herald is always biting any hands that feed it and the story celebrating Anshe's million is merely a desire to be first in covering the story, not a suck-up -- of which the Herald has no need, because if Anshe doesn't wish to advertise, they'll find someone else for that spot.
Nobody taps his foot and doesn't see Anshe now releasing her press release -- and imagines the Herald has done that for her -- lame.
But most erroneous of his theses is that her money is "paper" merely because it is tied up in purchased (actually "rented from the Lindens" ) server space. If he reasons thusly, Nobody should go all the way and call all of LL's assets paper, too. But of course, he doesn't do that because like most critical and snarky tekkie wikis, he hews to a curious loyalist line when it comes right down to it.

Such a pleasant personality.
