Stroker Serpentine appears to be in some distress, so if you are a friend in RL or SL, and have more information about how to reach him -- a Skype contact, a RL email, even a land line or cell phone -- you should check on him. I filed an alert to Twitter management and left a message with the Tampa police, but you have to know the district the person is living in and have more information to get them to respond, so perhaps someone else can follow up.
UPDATE: I got ahold of at least some kind of cell phone (recorded message), address and RL name. I called the local police and sheriff where he lives. They told me to call my own precinct and start from there. I did that, but my local precinct will not accept complaints out of their jurisdiction. So it's back to his sheriff's office, but it's going nowhere. If you live in Tampa yourself, perhaps you can help. Ask them to perform "a welfare check" for this person.
FURTHER UPDATE 6 PM
There is publicly available information about him and he has linked his SL name and RL name -- Kevin Alderman -- on Twitter (he lives in Tampa).
In a tweet about 20 hours ago, he wrote:
These tweets were brought to my attention by the odious Jumpman who I saw in my spam file as I was trying to fish Saffia and others out of it. Jumpman is among the most loathsome creatures of SL -- his vendetta against Stroker for years is of unknown origins (to me, anyway) and seems irrational. Stroker was none too nice fighting back, making effigies of Jumpman, but I'm a big believer in fighting back hard in SL, it's all you got, there is no law or justice. I didn't realize that Stroker's visit to the Woodburies this summer, an action I found strange and unjustifiable, could be sign of a larger RL distress. Why doesn't Sluniverse hive-mind get on this? Stroker is a regular poster there. Perhaps someone has more precise information how to reach him or his family in RL. His tweets blame the Lindens, and blame Jumper, and Second Life itself for his problems, which appear to include being broke and using drugs. I can only respond with what I think is in fact the most helpful thing one can say in a case like this: other people, Lindens, and SL are not responsible for your problems, you are, and you have exacerbated them with substance abuse. But the good news is, precisely because you *are* responsible for your problems, you can get over them and you have no need to feel helpless. Jumpman is cruel and crazy, and I certainly make no common cause with him -- I cited him as *a source* only and a report. I will have more to say about all this after someone can try to make sure Stroker is alright and has some support where he lives. While SL isn't a game, and was a very real business for Stroker, it is virtual and it is a simulation. And real life counts, and that's where I hope someone will find him.
